We consider red as hot and blue as cold. But blue colour has higher energy in the colour spectrum with highest wavelength. The dust spinning around black hole create tremendious friction causing blueish effect around it.

And YES! blueish part of flame of candle is hotter than yellow part, but our mind seems to like red is hotter than blue....looks very funny!
