Read Read Read

• If I understand, i will do: some people read the book and say: "it's common sense. I didn't read anything that I don't already know". True, but I bet that you read plenty here that you don't already do. There is a difference between understanding and doing....

When a person first looks at something you have written it should be something that looks inviting to read.

This means wide margins, a certain amount of white space, double spacing between paragraphs, short words, short sentences, short paragraphs and an attractive, inviting layout.

Author Junot Díaz captured the line between creating and consuming in his advice to aspiring writers: "Read more than you write, live more than you read."

A writer who never reads probably won't be a great writer. However, there is a point...
