We talked, wrote and read about politics, literature, poetry, art and economics, often in a very informal way. The ninth chapter of the book seems to me to be the most interesting. He deals with the centralization of communication that began with the invention of the internal combustion engine and the printing press. The middle and lower classes, including women, were able to be part of this world in a decisive way.
