Four Laws of Behavior Change we can use to create positive habit

The way we build habits can be divided into four steps: cue, craving, response, and reward. Together, these steps are known as the habit loop.

  1. Make it obvious. Attach new habits to old habits you already have.
  2. Second Law: Make it Attractive. The more that you like doing something, the more likely you'll be to do it.
  3. Third Law: Make it Easy. Addictive habits show that the easier something is, the more likely we are to do it.
  4. Fourth Law: Make it Satisfying. This step is the reward portion of the habit forming loop and increases the odds you’ll repeat an action.
