It is one of the largest religious and mysterious monuments in the world. It was transformed to Buddhist temple from Hindu temple at end of 12th century. It is as impressive as it is vast, making it a brilliant example of Khmer architecture. It is admired for the grandeur and harmony of the architecture although it just combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple mountain and the later galleried temple.
