January 23,1897 SCB in born 12 5yrs ago, "Netaji" SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE was born in cuttack. BOSE rejected a career in
India civil service to join India National Congress and emerged as its most popular leader. A fierce patriot, he raised the India National Army that fought, valiantly on Indians northeast boarders. Japan's defeat in the second world war foiled his plans to liberate India from the outside. His death in an air crash remains an unsolved mystery.
