Faced with a choice, Wake up now or snooze the alarm; have a healthy meal or order a quick junk food; make a conscious choice to drink a lot of water or leave it to your body to remind; prepare for tomorrow or rush later & so on.
We either opt for a thing which gives us quick results/instant gratification, or we have an option, to delay the gratification, a little pain today for more significant pleasures later.
And thanks to social media, we all are in love with instant gratification.
