All emotions are welcome as long as they are regulated. When someone oversteps their limits, when someone hurts us, we need to feel the anger that motivates us to set boundaries in order to remove ourselves from abuse, and defend/attack when necessary.
When anger is left unexpressed not only will it have numerous negative effects on the mental and physical health. Those effects are bound to interfere with the ability to set proper boundaries.
Emotions reveal desires. When we extract the core messages, they guide to where focus is needed; attention and action may then follow.
