According to the APA Dictionary Of Psychology,"it is a psychological demarcation that protects the integrity of an individual or group or that helps the person or group set realistic limits on participation in a relationship or activity".
In essence, it is the mental restrictions (which may or may not be visible) on our emotional, mental and physical actions in order to maintain personal identity, mental health, and physical well-being. So, boundaries are essential to thrive exceptionally and assertively.
