Growing up happens naturally to our bodies — but not to our minds.Some people grow up faster, and they become more mature. For others, the process takes longer. But one thing is common to all experiences — growing up is scary and difficult. And it’s necessary to keep doing better things and reaching higher goals.They always say growing up means leaving the comfort zone towards unknown challenges. But how can you leave the comfort zone? Today, I want to create a 4-step map to help you transform your life — moving from the comfort to the growth zone.

Growing Doesn't Happen Naturally

Every time you master a skill, you make a great effort. But for which purpose?You must find a purpose if you don’t start with one. Otherwise, you will soon stop practicing and become better at your new skills.Now, it’s time for you to live your dreams. In your growth zone, you finally found:<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">the fulfilling relationship you wanted</li><li class="ql-align-justify">a better job</li><li class="ql-align-justify">more friends to share your passions</li><li class="ql-align-justify">a better body shape</li><li class="ql-align-justify">and more fulfilling experiences.</li></ul>

<ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Pick something from your life that you want to improve. That’s your pain. Use it to motivate yourself. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Write something you would like to achieve in that field of your life. That’s your master goal. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Split that goal into more simple steps. Think about what another person would do to achieve that goal. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Then, try to do some of those micro-goals for a week. You need to achieve one small goal.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">In this second week, try to achieve that goal double the times. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Every new week, try to work on another step of your master goal. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Soon, you will enter the learning and then the growth zone.</li></ol>

How to Get from Comfort to Growth Zone

But you can’t stop here. Your dreams can never stop.You must set new goals and objectives. You must get out of this new comfort zone you are creating around yourself and keep improving. Otherwise, you will get back to your old habits. You will find new excuses for stopping what you have been doing. And you will lose everything you have hardly conquered.So, don’t stop now. Start over with another cycle and keep becoming better at what you want to become in life.Here’s a short guide on how to get from your comfort zone to your growth zone (you will also find it in the related infographic).

Every day, you learn something new. And you are eager to solve another problem and get ahead in your project.Your comfort zone rapidly extends to these new skills that you are acquiring. And you will soon master all of them and gain confidence in all you do.

Failure after failure, you start to learn something.Soon, persistence brings its first juicy fruits. And you finally realize all that fear was unnecessary.You still find challenges and problems on your path. But they aren’t that harsh anymore because you learned how to deal with them.

You will try to find many excuses because they push you back into your comfort zone. They give you a reason to give up. And, in the moment, that seems like a good compromise. But, in the long run, excuses destroy your growth. Also, you will value others’ opinions more than you should in the fear zone.Your insecurities and lack of expertise will make you think everyone else knows more than you. But that’s hardly true. People like to live in their comfort zone. And they will try to keep you with them. So don’t listen.

The fear zone is right after the comfort zone. And it waits for you to stick your head out and kick you in the face.It’s painful, I know. But it’s necessary.In the fear zone, you won’t have confidence in your actions. Everything will seem wrong. But persistence will be your closest ally.

And your fears will define who you are.Are you not convinced yet?Here are a few things you won’t find in your comfort zone:<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">A fulfilling relationship (or even a mediocre one, sometimes).</li><li class="ql-align-justify">the job of your dreams</li><li class="ql-align-justify">many friends to do many things</li><li class="ql-align-justify">fulfilling experiences</li><li class="ql-align-justify">and a dream body.</li></ul>

Every big story starts from this — the comfort zone. And luckily, it also ends with this.No matter the challenges and hurdles you will face, your mind will try to adapt to any new situation and bring you back here.Here, you are safe and in control.<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">You know your limits. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">You know what you’re allowed to do. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">And what you can’t do yet. </li></ul>
