Types of Variables
- Independent Variable- This is the variable that is manipulated or controlled by the researcher to observe its effect on the dependent variable.
- Dependent Variable- This variable is the outcome or effect that is measured in the study. It reflects the impact of the independent variable.
- Extraneous Variable- These are variables that may affect the dependent variable and need to be controlled or accounted for to prevent them from confounding the results.
- Intervening Variable- It is a variable that helps to explain the relationship between the independent and dependent variables.
