To get one thing done smoothly without any distractions, its really hard. It would be good thing if you get done things one by one, but it is not time wise. So, you probably choose to do multiple things in one time.

Multitasking becomes standard operating procedure, even when it is not necessary. 

When you are doing more than one thing, you aren't looking at more than one thing. You are not really paying attention to any of them. It wastes your time more than doing one thing. 

Do one thing at a time and pay close attention to each task.
