Nick Carraway moves in next door

What are the chances of Nick moving in next door to Jay? Was this planned? My rational brain says that the possibility of Gatsby planning something like this is a million to one. But, it is more likely that Gatsby would have planned such a thing. I mean why not? He bought a big empty home just to be as close to Daisy as he could. He did love her a lot. And had already made immense efforts to make contact. Why couldn't he have planned this too? He obviously had enough connections.
