This is book is an absolute work of art. The simple and subtle way in which the story wraps you in a feeling of love and affection is magnificent. The attention to detail and the smooth flow of this book are just some of the contributing factors towards its immense success.
I am a huge fan of this piece of literature. It is soft and comforting but it can be loud and violent when needed.

What are the chances of Nick moving in next door to Jay? Was this planned? My rational brain says that the possibility of Gatsby planning something like this is a million to one. But, it is more likely that Gatsby would have planned such a thing. I mean why not? He bought a big empty home just to be as close to Daisy as he could. He did love her a lot. And had already made immense efforts to make contact. Why couldn't he have planned this too? He obviously had enough connections.

I hated the end because of what Gatsby had to face. He wholeheartedly gave his life to Daisy and all she did was crush it, in the end. What hurts more is Daisy to be with a lying, cheating bastard instead of the man who loved her the most.
Gatsby gave her his whole life. He waited for so long just to have half an hour to spend with her one day. On a personal level, I don't feel that he was particularly optimistic about his plans working out. But he couldn't just give up without trying.

The Great Gatsby is a timeless piece of art. Why? Because it is so relevant. Written in 190s, The Great Gatsby is still one of the most popular reads. Even after a century it is one of the best books to get your hands on.
The major cause beind this is that it uncovers basic human nature at unimaginable debths. Just think about what Nick does, What Daisy does, How Tom acts, Aren;'t these things relatable? Don't you expect humans to act this way. Its revelvant, its real, its timeless.
