You need to know what is on your plate and what you want to put first. First doesn't always mean you will get it finished first but it is a focus.

When working on stuff there's always something that is going to be holding up other things. This is the critical path and you need to make sure that you order your items accordingly so that you don't push off the critical path and prolong what you're working on.

When you're working on a project especially a long one it is better to take your time and do things right instead of rushing. You might miss certain details

Having an early start will allow you to get off early or taking breaks when you need them throughout the day. It is also a good way to use your morning focus.

Start Early

When you encounter something that frustrates you get up and walk around. Get a glass of water and come back. If you can't get much further after that, you need to move onto the next thing and come back later or change your approach completely to get a fresh mind on the task.Changing the angle will help you tackle more stuff when they get hard.

You are not tied to your seat. If you need to stand up do it and stretch. Go and get some water etc. Get up and do a simple chore while thinking about a task. This way you don't stop working but your body also will return the favor and be still in good shape as the day goes on.

Remote work but not as work.

Even if you have a large project you're working on. DIYs don't have to take one afternoon they can last months. What matters is progress and what you have learned in the small steps along the way.

Small Steps

If you have something you need done, make sure that it is easy to do in comparison to other things. Such as simply making the items you want to do more accessable than the things that get in the way. Eg. Leaving a project out on a table so you don't have to get all the stuff out, and putting the remote in a far room from the TV.

Make It Easy To Do

Even if you set goals for items, it is okay to fall short. What matters is that you finish them and get to where you want even if it takes longer than you thought it would. The time was spent learning, so it was not wasted but we'll used.

It Is Okay For Things To Take Longer Than Expected

These are some thoughts that have helped me get more done on my project, aka a house renovation. Hope they are of help.
