You can schedule your email to be sent at a specific date and time in the future by clicking the small arrow next to the Send button.This is useful when you need to send, after a 1:1 or an informational interview, a follow up email that contains some highlights from the conversasion.This goes hand in hand with writing the email while the conversation is still fresh in your memory but you need to send the next day.PRO TIP: Use this feature to send holiday wishes in advance.

Use 'Schedule Send' Productively

If you can't remember someone's name, but you know his company/domain, you can search your emails using the * asterisk operator. This will return all of the people you interacted with from that specific company.Example: Searching for "*@deepstash.com" will show you all your conversations with people from Deepstash!

If you like using labels in your Gmail Workspace, it can get a little crowded after a while. You can hide that label if all it's corresponding emails are read by pressing it's 3 dots menu and select Show if unread.This way, that label will pop back up only if it has an unread email.

If you have recurring emails that annoy you or you simply want an organized inbox without doing it manually you can filter them automatically:<ol><li>Open an email that fits in that particular category you want it sorted</li><li>From the 3 dots menu in the right hand side (under the print button) go to Filter messages like this</li><li>Write your desired filter and click search to show all the emails that match it</li><li>Open the filter menu again and click create filter</li><li>Select what that filter should do an finish it</li></ol>Now all those annoying emails will get to their specific category and your inbox will be nice and clean.

The easy way to create filters

If you want to send an email with a specific alias on it you can write your recipient's email as: [actual_email]+[desired_alias]@[his_domain].com. What this will do is send that email with that alias attached to it. If your recipient has a filter for that alias, it will get sorted out quicker!A good usecase is completing newsletter forms with your_address+newsletter@gmail.com and make a filter so that every email that has the newsletter alias will automatically get labeled.

If you find yourself sending the same emails over and over again or make minor edits each time, you can make custom templates from them. This way you will save time by completing only that part that changes.Do this by going to Gmail settings > Advanced > Enable Templates. Now, when you write a new email, use the 3 dots menu from the edior window, hit templates and save that template.

If you are constantly asked to help with the search filters, just make a filter that fits, make a search in your own inbox and just send your coworker the that URL link you accesed when you pressed search. When your coworked will press that URL link you sent, the filter with automatically run in their inbox, saving you both some precious time.

Thinking about something in endless circles. It's exhausting. While everyone overthinks a few things once in a while, chronic over-thinkers spend most of their waking time ruminating, which puts pressure on themselves. They then mistake that pressure to be stress.

What is overthinking?

People who overthink consistently run commentaries in their heads, criticising and picking apart what they said and did yesterday, terrified that they look bad — and fretting about a terrible future that might await them. What ifs’ and ‘shoulds’ dominate their thinking, as if an invisible jury is sitting in judgement on their lives. They don’t sleep well because ruminating and worrying keep them awake at night.

Am I an overthinker?

Overthinking is destructive and mentally draining. It can make you feel like you’re stuck in one place, and if you don’t act, it can greatly impact on your day-to-day life. It can quickly put your health and total well-being at risk. Rumination makes you more susceptible to depression and anxiety.

Why overthinking is bad?

When an unpleasant event puts us in a despondent mood, it’s easier to recall other times when we’ve felt terrible. That can set the stage for a ruminator to work herself into a downward spiral

Chronic worrying is not permanent. It’s a mental habit that can be broken. You can train your brain to look at life from a different perspective.

Is it permanent? No.

To overcome overthinking you need to replace the thought. Telling yourself to not to have a certain thought is not the way to not have the thought. You need to replace the thought and put it in a different context.

How can I get rid of overthinking?

Find a constructive way of processing any worries or negative thoughts, says Honey. “Write your thoughts down in a journal every night before bed or first thing in the morning — they don’t have to be in any order. Do a ‘brain dump’ of everything on your mind onto the page.

Try to keep a habbit to wake yourself up everytime you overthink. Put a rubber band on your wrist and pinch it when your toughts start to overflow.

Psychologists Explain How To Stop Overthinking Everything

We all know how good the morning sleep is, but we also know the many times we wished to get up earlier so we can have more time. When you set your alarm before bed, put it on the other side of the bedroom/room. This will make you stand up, take a few steps to your alarm and wake up faster rather than immediately hit snooze and go back to dreaming

1. Take some distance from your alarm

When you talk with somebody, we put our phones on silent and be focused on that person. Why we can't do that for ourself also? Our phones can make us lose track of time. It's easy to take a glimpse to a notification and then, boom, one hour later you're still scrolling.  Put your phone upside down, on silent, or use the focus mode if your smartphone has one.

8. Limit your phone

Give yourself a break to be quiet.  Meditate, listen to music, do nothing or even go for a walk, anything that can ease off your mind and clear your toughts. Appreciate your life, what you have, take a break from your reality and think about how great you are and make yourself stronger.

10. Be still

Write a psyhical to-do list and put it beside your alarm on the other side of the room.  It will make you stay motivated, organised, and will keep your brain empty when you try to sleep because all the tasks you need to do are safe there and forget-free.  Also, if you feel you can't sleep because of so many toughts, wake up and write them down too!

9. Write your tasks

Carry a full water bottle everywhere you go and drink water it when you feel bored, hungry, nervous or stressed.  It's important to stay hydrated but we often don't do it because the glass of water is not there.

4. Hydrate yourself

Try to not bring junk food at home. It will make you lazy and go for the bad calories instead of cook that chicken with vegetables you already bought following the 6th habbit.  If it's not there, you won't gonna eat it.

7. You have food at home

Investing in quality, non-processed, organic food is investing in yourself, if you can afford it. Try to buy from local grocery shops, cook at home and improve the quality of the food you eat.

6. Eat better

If you want to improve your life, it doesn't matter what you do once in a while, it's what you do every day. The good part is that it's the simplest things you do are the biggest one that make a diffrence. Some of them take even less than 10 seconds. It's a small price you pay for the huge benefits that you get.

Simple steps

Although it's not that easy to do, going to sleep after a fight with your lover or a person you care about it's not healthy for the relationship in the long run. Try to solve the problem before going to bed and don't leave space to be unhappy on eachother.

5. Don't fall asleep angry at a loved one

We all have moments in our work schedule when we think we are not enough or we self doubt. For this cases keep a Praise in your inbox and drag there all the emails where you get positive feedback from your boss or your work colleagues.  When you feel down, just re-read those emails and get yourself a slef esteem dose!

3. Praise the feedback

Add one personal item to your work to-do list each day.  If your day is full of work related stuff, it's easy to be caught up in the busyness that we neglect ourselfs. Go to the gym, call your parents, play with your kids.

Our brains have two "systems" that complement eachother, with their own capabilities, limitations and functions. <ul><li>System One is fast, automated and precise, but can be easily tricked and has a small working window.</li><li>System Two is slower, can make complex thoughts achieved in a specific algorithm and takes control over it's brother when he needs to with it's long but limited attention buffer.</li></ul>

System One and System Two

With it's lighting fast reactions, System One is present in almost every common situation. It's actions are sometimes unstoppable and can be trained to steal tasks from the second System. Depending on the complexity, here are some tasks that System One makes:<ul><li>Solves simple math like 2+2</li><li>Recognizes a good chess move (if you are a chess expert)</li><li>Reads words on big ads</li><li>Drives the car on a empty road</li><li>Makes you look in the direction of a sound</li></ul>

System One

Being slower but very powerful, this part of the brain can partialy suppes the other one while taking control on our body and forming logical and complex operations that need an attention span while being easily interrupted, like:<ul><li>Solves complex math like 412* 525</li><li>Searching for a person</li><li>Controlling your behaviour</li><li>Completing a formular</li><li>Parking a car</li></ul>

System Two

<ul><li>Our brain have a very limited attenion buffer. Our System Two can't give more than he has. We need to prioritize it's tasks to make it work efficiently.</li><li>We will use the minimal effort law, thinking as little as possible, unless we act on it with all our thinking energy</li><li>If we let our intuition take control, we may give a wrong response, making us repeat the process with a deeper search in our memory, this time calling for the Second System</li></ul>

Attention and Effort

Our mind can easily and unknowingly fall in a priming situation where certain things prepare ourself to take a certain decision based on association.<ul><li>Looking at a pile of cash before a conversation can make us greedy</li><li>A bilboard with some imposing eyes can lower bad behaviour</li><li>Holding our finger in the mouth forms a smile that sparks a little bit of joy</li></ul>Unfortunately, a strongly primed System One cand fool System Two into believing it's story.
