Live Fearlessly - Last Words From Kerri Grote

Are you running towards life or running away from death?

None of us gets out alive from this rodeo called life.

Dying is a transition each of us go through and it doesn’t have to be a battle.

Don’t let fear fuel your choices. Live fearlessly. Run TOWARDS life. Don’t worry about what people think. Trust me, it doesn’t matter.

Taste as morality

Taste is not only a part and an index of morality; - it is the ONLY morality.

The first, and last, and closest trial question to any living creature is , 'What do you like?' Tell me what you like and I'll tell you what you are.

Go out into the street, and ask the first man or woman you meet, what their 'taste' is; and if they answer candidly, you know them, body and soul.

A new Patroclus

This feeling was different. I found myself grinning until my cheeks hurt, my scalp prickling till I thought it might lift off my head. My tongue ran away from me, giddy with freedom. This, and this, and this, I said to him. I did not have to fear that I spoke too much. I did not have to worry that I was too slender, or too slow. This and this and this! I taught him how to skip stones, and he taught me how to carve wood. I could feel every nerve in my body, every brush of air against my skin.

'Animals that makes us human'

One of the oldest burials of a man with an animal dates back 15.000 years in Jordan where a man was buried with a fox.

In Egipt 3.500 BC, whole skeletons of elephants, hippos and baboons were found as a sign of the world's first Zoo.

More than 4.000 years ago in Sudan the people of the Kerma culture fitted 20 cattle heads around a 5-6 years old child's tomb.

A viking example of the 10th century shows a man incinerated next to precious objects of gold, silver and bronze, but also animals from 20 species: bear, dogs, bulls, sheep, pig, chicken, cat, goose, owl, fish and many more.

When you change your brain, you change your life

A revolution in science has recently revealed that the adult brain remains open to change throughout the lifespan.

The simple truth is that how we focus our attention, how we intentionally direct the flow of energy and information through our neural circuits, can directly alter the brain’s activity and its structure. The key is to know the steps toward using our awareness in ways that promote well-being
