Originally from Cleveland, USA and now based in London, Joe Cohen is a serial entrepreneur and investor. He founded the online ticket marketplace Seatwave in 2006 and, as CEO, grew it into a hugely successful marketplace for selling and buying tickets to sports, music and cultural events. The business was acquired by competitor Ticketmaster in 2014.
Just because everybody tells you to update your LinkedIn profile like it’s some trophy-winning contest, it doesn’t mean you should or you must.
Learning to sit back sometimes and take no action to see what transpires is an interesting activity. Holding back from updating my LinkedIn profile led me to the realization that I’m not going to update it at all. Here are several reasons why.
Work is showing up at the appointed time, whether or not you feel like it. Work is creating value on demand, and work (for the artist) means putting all of it (or most of it) on the line. And free?
It makes sense to work for free when you think you’ll be able to turn that platform/situation into positive change, into increased trust, into something that moves you forward. The more generous you are with your ideas, and the more they spread, the more likely it is your perceived value goes up.
We live on earth, but we are a tech-enabled society.
Today, most of our actions advanced by technology come with a price. A price we continue to pay monthly, despite having only entered our credit card information once. That’s the beauty of the recurring payment model of subscriptions.
I addressed my active subscriptions and wanted to share the 9 that will successfully bill me in the coming year.
