Their aim wasn't to create a definitive list of all possible loves, but to investigate several key questions:<ol><li>Location: Where in the body are different types of love felt?</li><li>Nature: How does each type relate to emotional valence, physical/mental experience, and controllability</li><li>Similarity: How closely related are different types of love in terms of bodily and mental experiences?</li></ol>

All love types were felt in the head, though intensity varied. Stronger affections like true love and passionate love activated the chest more, while weaker ones like love of wisdom were mainly head-centered.

Location

Interpersonal love types were stronger than those for non-human beings or ideas. Within categories, true love, passionate love, love for life, and love for nature were strongest, while love for strangers and practical love were weakest. Interestingly, love for life and nature ranked as high as family/friend love and higher than self-love.

Self-love was the most controllable but least frequently experienced. In terms of "touch," self-love was stronger than love for life and nature, possibly hinting at its social nature.

A strong correlation emerged between bodily and mental salience and valence - the more prominent a love in the body, the stronger it is felt in the mind and the more pleasurable it is. This link between body and mind suggests that love isn't just something in your head – it's a whole-body experience, and the stronger it feels physically, the deeper and more joyful it feels emotionally.

A hormone is released by the pituitary gland in the brain to promote the development of follicles on the surface of the ovary. Most of the time, just one follicle will develop into an egg. From day 10 of your cycle onward, this is possible. Your uterus' lining also gets thicker during this time to get ready for pregnancy. This is like a new beginning.</li></ul>

Phase 2, Ovulatory Phase (Open Up) - A mature egg is produced from an ovary during ovulation and travels down a fallopian tube toward your uterus after being prompted by an increase in estrogen and LH hormone. During this time, you feel sociable and talkative. As testosterone levels fall, LH hormone levels rise.

Phase 3, Luteal Phase (Work) - The corpus luteum, which is a group of ovarian cells, releases progesterone and a tiny quantity of estrogen after ovulation. As a result, the uterine lining thickens to get ready for pregnancy. The corpus luteum continues to generate progesterone after a fertilized egg implants in the uterine lining, maintaining the uterus' thicker lining. An enzyme variant created by engineers and scientists at The University of Texas at Austin can break down environment-throttling plastics that typically take centuries to degrade in just a matter of hours to days.

This discovery, published today in Nature, could help solve one of the world's most pressing environmental problems: what to do with the billions of tons of plastic waste piling up in landfills and polluting our natural lands and water. The enzyme has the potential to supercharge recycling on a large scale that would allow major industries to reduce their environmental impact by recovering and reusing plastics at the molecular level.

The Enzyme's Potential

"The possibilities are endless across industries to leverage this leading-edge recycling process," said Hal Alper, professor in the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at UT Austin. "Beyond the obvious waste management industry, this also provides corporations from every sector the opportunity to take a lead in recycling their products. Through these more sustainable enzyme approaches, we can begin to envision a true circular plastics economy."

Possibilities

The project focuses on polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a significant polymer found in most consumer packaging, including cookie containers, soda bottles, fruit and salad packaging, and certain fibers and textiles. It makes up 12% of all global waste.

Focus of Project

The enzyme was able to complete a "circular process" of breaking down the plastic into smaller parts (depolymerization) and then chemically putting it back together (repolymerization). In some cases, these plastics can be fully broken down to monomers in as little as 24 hours.

Researchers at the Cockrell School of Engineering and College of Natural Sciences used a machine learning model to generate novel mutations to a natural enzyme called PETase that allows bacteria to degrade PET plastics. The model predicts which mutations in these enzymes would accomplish the goal of quickly depolymerizing post-consumer waste plastic at low temperatures.

Through this process, which included studying 51 different post-consumer plastic containers, five different polyester fibers and fabrics, and water bottles all made from PET, the researchers proved the effectiveness of the enzyme, which they are calling FAST-PETase (functional, active, stable, and tolerant PETase).

"This work really demonstrates the power of bringing together different disciplines, from synthetic biology to chemical engineering to artificial intelligence," said Andrew Ellington, professor in the Center for Systems and Synthetic Biology whose team led the development of the machine learning model.

Recycling is the most obvious way to cut down on plastic waste. But globally, less than 10% of all plastic has been recycled. The most common method for disposing of plastic, besides throwing it in a landfill, is to burn it, which is costly, energy-intensive, and spews noxious gas into the air. Other alternative industrial processes include very energy-intensive processes of glycolysis, pyrolysis, and/or methanolysis.

Recycling

Research on enzymes for plastic recycling has advanced during the past 15 years. However, until now, no one had been able to figure out how to make enzymes that could operate efficiently at low temperatures to make them both portable and affordable at a large industrial scale. FAST-PETase can perform the process at less than 50 degrees Celsius.

Biological solutions take much less energy. 

Up next, the team plans to work on scaling up enzyme production to prepare for industrial and environmental applications. The researchers have filed a patent application for the technology and are eying several different uses. Cleaning up landfills and greening high waste-producing industries are the most obvious. But another key potential use is environmental remediation. The team is looking at a number of ways to get the enzymes out into the field to clean up polluted sites.

"When considering environmental cleanup applications, you need an enzyme that can work in the environment at ambient temperature. This requirement is where our tech has a huge advantage in the future," Alper said.

A revolutionary time management system, it is at once deceptively simple to learn and life-changing to use.</h2>

The Pomodoro® Core Process

<h5>Something big, something small, something you’ve been putting off for a million years: it doesn’t matter. What matters is that it’s something that deserves your full, undivided attention.</h5>

1. CHOOSE A TASK YOU'D LIKE TO GET DONE.

The Pomodoro® Core Process consists of 6 steps:

<h5>Make a small oath to yourself: I will spend 25 minutes on this task and I will not interrupt myself. You can do it! After all, it’s just 25 minutes.</h5>

2. SET THE POMODORO® FOR 25 MINUTES.

<h5>Immerse yourself in the task for the next 25 minutes. If you suddenly realize you have something else you need to do, write the task down on a sheet of paper.</h5>

3. WORK ON THE TASK UNTIL THE POMODORO® RINGS.

<h5>Congratulations! You’ve spent an entire, interruption-less Pomodoro® on a task.</h5>

4. WHEN THE POMODORO® RINGS, PUT A CHECKMARK ON A PAPER.

<h5>Breathe, meditate, grab a cup of coffee, go for a short walk or do something else relaxing (i.e., not work-related). Your brain will thank you later.</h5>

5. TAKE A SHORT BREAK.

<h5>Once you’ve completed four pomodoros, you can take a longer break. 20 minutes is good. Or 30. Your brain will use this time to assimilate new information and rest before the next round of Pomodoros.</h5>

6. EVERY 4 POMODOROS, TAKE A LONGER BREAK.
