When your job relies on your ability to think creatively and provide the best solutions, nothing is more frustrating than hitting a creative block in the middle of an urgent project.

5 tips to overcome Designer's Block

First, we need to understand that it is natural to encounter creative blocks. We face creative blocks because we are humans, and sometimes our brains just need a small break to recharge.A few other reasons to consider are…<ul><li>Feeling overwhelmed or pressured</li><li>Being too focused on perfection</li><li>Not believing in one’s own talents</li><li>Thinking one’s ideas aren’t good</li><li>Or a project deadline is coming up</li></ul>However, here are the 5 tips to overcome creative blocks

But why do we face creative blocks?

Bring out the analytical designer in you and ask yourself these questions:<ul><li>What is the end goal of my project?</li><li>What are the potential obstacles?</li><li>What do I need to do to get started?</li></ul>Once you find answers to these questions, hopefully, you will have more clarity to continue to the next step.

1. Identify the cause

We often forget our accomplishments in the course of our daily lives. Try looking back at some of your finest work or the things you want to achieve next in your life. Hopefully, this will give you enough motivation to break the creative block.

2. Reflect on your achievements

You can find inspiration everywhere. Inspiration often comes from observing the efforts of other creative people. Get outside, watch movies, listen to music, play games, read books, or even gaze at paintings, admire a piece of art.

3. Get inspired by new things

Sometimes we’re scared of making a mistake. As a result, we avoid trying new things. Give yourself permission to fail. Self-learning and pushing our creativity require the freedom to make mistakes. “You’ve to get bad in order to get good.”

4. Let yourself fail, sometimes


If you’ve tried everything and nothing is working, don’t force it. In order to refocus your thoughts, it’s fine to take a break. I prefer to just walk away. Get distracted by something else and let the ideas come back to me naturally!

5. Creativity can’t be forced

These 5 tips have worked for me, and I hope you can also take advantage of them. However, I believe that everyone is different, and things that work for me, might not work for you.
