Eating too few calories

Eating too few calories can cause a major decrease in metabolism.

Although a calorie deficit is needed for weight loss, it can be counterproductive for your calorie intake to drop too low. When you dramatically lower your calorie intake, your body senses that food is scarce and lowers the rate at which it burns calories.

Incandescent light bulbs existed before Thomas Edison, and when other inventors got wind of Edison's tinkerings, they roundly sued him for patent infringement. 

So what did Edison actually do?

He discovered that a special species of bamboo had a higher resistance to electricity than carbonized paper, which means it could more efficiently produce light. Edison got rich off the bamboo, and from superior manufacturing and marketing of his product. 

Like all great inventions, the light bulb can’t be credited to one inventor. It was a series of small improvements.

How long should you sleep?

The actual amount of time depends on your body’s needs, but your goal is to wake up feeling refreshed. While you’re sleeping, your body is doing the essential maintenance required. 

Your cells are repairing, your brain is processing information and your sympathetic nervous system is relaxing.

When you shortchange your sleep, you shortchange yourself.

If you enjoy waking up early, try adjusting your schedule to go to bed earlier. 

If you want to stay up late, start allowing yourself to sleep in.

Its impact is more significant on brain health. There are also studies that point out the connection between loneliness and developing diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer’s.

In India, almost 22% of elders stay alone. While, in youngsters, chronic loneliness is ignored.
