The Three~A Trap

The Three~A Trap

No is the tension between exercising your power and tending to your relationship.

To approach the power versus relationship dilemma, we go for three common approaches:

  1. Accomodate: We say Yes when we Want to Say No.
  2. Attack: We say no poorly.
  3. Avoid: We say nothing at all.

We often start by accommodating all requests and slowly begin to feel resentful. A point comes when we suddenly explode, only to feel guilty afterward at the destructive impact of our attack. So we lapse back into accomodation & avoidance ignoring the problem and hoping that it will disappear.

But get trapped in maze of feelings.
