Smelly pets
We love our furry friends, but too often we are less taken by the sweetness of their scent. Whether it's air fresheners, essential oils or carpet fresheners, pets have a different perspective on the matter.
Many contain VOCs (volatile organic compounds, which have many I'll effects, causing:
*Eye, nose and throat irritation.
*Headaches, loss of co-ordination, lethargy and nausea.
*Damage to liver, kidneys and the CNS.
*Some are known to cause Cancer's in animals and humans.
*Skin irritations.
Un-neutered animals are prone to territorial marking. The only solution is prompt and adequate cleaning.

The solution
If you frequently use household scents, it's possible you might have become nose blind. Ask a friend who isn't insured, to take a sniff.
A house isn't really meant to smell like a floral bouquet, so consider opening some windows first.
Their noses can be highly sensitive. What may seem fragrant to you could be overwhelming them.
They may withdraw from the area, experience coughing, sneezing, discharge coming from the eyes/nose, vomiting, diaorreah, lethargy or lack of appetite.
A few small pots containing bicarbonate of soda works wonders.
