Yearly Reviews | What Are Yearly Goals?

My yearly review boils down to two simple steps within the "MY LIFE" framework:

• Key Elements (KEs)
• Topics
• Roles

Let's delve into these.

Step 1: Set Goals (the WHAT).

Quickly outline goals for my KEs and roles, and identify up to three primary topics of interest.

Keep it clear but flexible.

Step 2: Create Projects and Habits (the HOW).

Achieve goals through projects or habits.

I prefer habits for their alignment with systems and ease of automation.

I'm a firm advocate of system-building, recognizing that we, as humans, are systems ourselves.

The more we integrate into these systems, the more efficiently we perform and live. 

I use a variety of tools to aid in this process, each selected for its strengths.

Tools like Tana for outlining, Goalscape for visualizing goals, and ClickUp, Sunsama, and Todoist for project and task management.

Although I refer to it as my yearly review, that doesn't necessarily define my activities for the entire year.

I prefer to see it as “a moment to pause and reflect about my life”.

My planning is more dynamic, focusing on quarterly and monthly objectives with weekly targets.

This approach keeps me aligned with reality.
