Make learning easy to get started. Set up the right environment for least preparation before real practice.

• Have materials on you at all times . If you’re reading, always carry a book or Kindle.
• Set up your working area so starting is instantaneous. If you’re studying for an exam, keep material open to start.
• Batch all the tedious starting work. Tedious preparations may precede real learning. Set time aside for it to take advantage of time to make progress.

Align your project with sources of meaning in life like something that fits within your existing work, social or family pursuits.

Learning a skill independently before getting responsibilities for it becomes harder to follow through but a skill for work is easier to learn. When learning is disconnected from other things we care about, it tends to fall away.

Two hours on a skill seems effortful but two hours on Netflix wouldn't. Finding time doesn’t help if the problem is fundamentally that it is too effortful to learn.

Suspend all activities that consume your time like Social Media, Games etc. Check the ones you want to reintroduce ones that you need helping your effortless learning.
