• Reading each case twice: getting plenty of information out of them
• Color- coding tour highlights: you can do this by using pink for facts, blue for the issues, green for the rationale, and yellow for the court's holding
• Writing in the margin: write brief summary of each important point or significant fact in the margin of your casebook
• Taking the material one step further: has the Professor recommended any law review articles that you need to check out? Go to the library and look them up. Are any points in the reading unclear to you? Look them up in a study aid or treatise

Participate everyday, don't miss many classes (usually four misses per semester is the maximum), and continuanlly ask thought-provoking question

• Making your study enviroment conductive to studying
• Getting a spouse or friend to keep small children occupied for a portion of each night
• Separating work and school

- Making a priority list for every study session

- Writing a start and stop time for studying on a piece of paper and keeping it handy

- Avoid zoning out (daydreaming)
