First 5 tips to write a blurb

  1. Catch Attention: Start with a hook
  2. The MC: Don't info dump the character profile unless there are details crucial to the plot which could attract the reader's attention.
  3. Names: Don't mention too many names in the blurb. It can confuse the reader. Try sticking to two names.
  4. Plot=Conflict: Mention your major conflict. Every story can my summarize to one central conflict which should be good enough to pull the reader in.
  5. What's at Risk: With the conflict the stakes also need to be introduced
