It will need many new technologies, protocols, companies, innovations, and discoveries to function. It will also need countless people to work in the countless jobs.
Some definitions:
- Virtual Reality (VR): A full artificial environment.
- Augmented reality (AR): Virtual objects overlaid on a real-world environment.
- Mixed reality (MR): Virtual combined with the real world.
- Extended Reality (XR) / Metaverse: a mix of all the above.
