Cholesterol is an organic molecule, required by all cell membranes to produce steroid hormones & bile acids.
About 25% of our daily “intake” of cholesterol comes from what we eat (egg yolks, meat or cheese) & 75% is made by our body. So we make most of the cholesterol.
If you have too much cholesterol in your blood, it can combine with other substances in the blood to form plaque. Plaque sticks to the walls of your arteries.
