Singer describes this as a lost state and explains that we often move into this state while awake, for e.g: when we are fully absorbed in our thoughts, feelings, and senses. Focusing on these features prevents us from understanding the context of our experiences. This is the difference between being aware that you are aware and not being aware that you are aware.
