The concept of relevance holds great importance when it comes to memory retention. Your brain tends to retain information that it deems significant, hence it is essential to convince your brain about the importance of what you are learning in order to remember it. To create relevance, it is crucial to establish a connection between the new information and your existing knowledge base.

Relevance Is Key In regards To Memorization And Learning 

The power of syntopical reading lies in its ability to help readers gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of a subject by comparing and contrasting ideas across multiple texts.This type of reading also helps readers develop critical thinking skills, as they must analyze and evaluate the arguments and evidence presented in each text.

The Power Of Syntopical Reading 

Syntopical Reading is a type of reading where multiple texts on the same subject are read and compared to gain a deeper understanding of the subject.the reader selects the most important texts on the subject, reads them in parallel, and identifies the key ideas, arguments, and perspectives presented in each text. The reader then compares and contrasts these ideas across the texts to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the subject

Syntopical  Reading 

The illusion of learning is the mistaken belief that we have learned something simply because we have read or listened to it The illusion of learning can also occur when we rely too heavily on memorization and repetition rather than actively engaging with and critically evaluating the material.﻿

Ask questions, underline or highlight key points, and summarize what you've read in your own words.</li><li>Connect the information: Connect new information with what you already know. This can help you remember the information better and create a more complete understanding.</li><li>Use mnemonic devices: Mnemonic devices are techniques that can help you remember information. For example, you can use acronyms, rhymes, or visual associations to help you remember.</li></ol>
