If we want to make friends, let’s put ourselves out to do things for other people, thins that require time, energy, unselfishness and thoughtfulness.

When dealing with people, let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic. We are dealing with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity.

Let the other person save face. How? Suppose we are wrong. Suppose we are harsh, unjust, and brutal. Suppose we destroy others. What do we achieve? It is more important to be kind than to be right.

Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain, but it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.
