It’s important to understand that emotionally abusive language doesn’t always sound abusive.

The one question to ask yourself about any relationship:What would you say to a friend if they were going through the same thing? Sometimes you don’t realise how f**ked up someone is treating you until you’re explaining it to someone else. So, talk to each other. Don’t judge too much. Listen. Be open.

But it’s all about shifting your perception of what success is and not measuring it by others’ achievements. There are loads of different ways to mark success.So whatever you want to do with your life, do it because YOU want to do it. Don’t get caught up in living someone else’s dream, or competing against someone else’s achievements.

You have to take responsibility for your emotions. Other people don’t make you feel anything – you control your reaction and outcome. You are in control of everything.

It can sometimes feel impossible to get out of a toxic relationship, especially if you love that person (and even if you don’t).
