Changing habits is difficult for two reasons: (1) we try to change something but miss the target, and (2) we try to change habits in the wrong way.

Habits become attractive when associated with positive feelings and unattractive when associated with negative feelings.

The best way to dismantle bad habits is to make their implementation impractical. Increase the barriers until you're reluctant to even do them.
