8. Don’t Wait for Permission

Take initiative, If you see a need that isn’t being met, go meet it or bring it to the attention of someone who can. So many people in the workforce are just waiting their turn, but you won’t get ahead if you don’t take action. Do things without having to be asked—even minor things.

Do not wait for others to approve your choices. When you want something, go for it.

If you want to quit your job, quit. You do not need your friend’s approval to do it. If you want to lose weight, start eating healthy. Do not worry about what other people think of you.

We tend to only do something about our careers when we have a problem. But if you wait until you’re laid off or dissatisfied, you may take action but it won’t feel authentic.
