Qin Shi Huang - The First Emperor

Qin Shi Huang became the ruler of Qin at 13. He survived court attempts to replace him and by 37 he was the most powerful man on the planet. He is said to be brutal & superstiuous but all this bad charcaterization come from his succesors:

  • He unified the Chinese languages
  • He used meritroctatic ways to advance people from all over China.
  • Was a promoter of Legalism, parting away from Confucianism ritual and favouring written laws.
  • He is said to burn books (bamboo sticks) but most likely he did that to create a common culture.
