The poor old Gatsby

The poor old Gatsby

I hated the end because of what Gatsby had to face. He wholeheartedly gave his life to Daisy and all she did was crush it, in the end. What hurts more is Daisy to be with a lying, cheating bastard instead of the man who loved her the most.

Gatsby gave her his whole life. He waited for so long just to have half an hour to spend with her one day. On a personal level, I don't feel that he was particularly optimistic about his plans working out. But he couldn't just give up without trying.
