Multitracking involves considering several options simultaneously. Multitracking has another advantage too, one that is more unexpected. It feels better.

When you consider multiple options simultaneously, you learn the shape of the problem. To get the benefits of multitracking, we need to produce options that are meaningfully distinct.

Decisive

How to make better decisions

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used to create them." - Albert Einstein

  • Colin Powell's 40-70 rule: Never make decision with less than 40% or gather more than 70% information available.
  • Practice exponential thinking: Instead of fixing small problems, focus on solving the root cause.
  1. Get to the underlying problem.
  2. Fill your thoughts with "what if" statements.
  3. Read about and gather information about it.
  4. Extrapolate. Try out scenarios to find the best approach.
  • Create a not-to-do list to know which tasks shouldn't drain your time.
  • Study your errors to know what could have been done better or avoided. This creates a guiding inventory for future decisions.
  • Unbounded learning cuts out the "middleman" of traditional knowledge providers. It instead encourages students to directly access the best content from various institutions or independent teachers relevant to their goals.
  • Serendipity. By allowing your education to branch off in any direction, you may discover new areas of interest that you could not have predicted.
  • You will not be restricted to specific sources or formats but can explore concepts from various angles (podcasts, books from an expert, YouTube etc.).
Focus on the small improvements

Doing more in less time is not the ultimate solution to productivity. It's the path to burnout.

Productivity rests more on small improvements. By focusing on the small things, the big things will take care of themselves.
