Evolutionary, human brain wired in a way to use as less energy as possible. This is to save the processing power of brain for more vital functions like vison. So, if some task takes too much processing power brain would try to drop that or hardwire the procedure by forming a habit.

First thing is we must acknowledge the laziness of our brain. So what should do is make the task easy for the brain.

What Does It Take To Form A Habit

Like many natural phenomenas, each and every habit may require a Activation Energy.We know that when gasoline is set on fire it quickly ignite. But for that also we need to give some initia energy, by setting it on fire.But that doesn't mean motivation will carry you to your goal. Because you can set fire on wet wood. You need to dry it first 😉

The idea here is making the task easy for the brain, in other words "establish a viable system".

As much as brain loves ease, brain loves rewards. Brain doesn't only care about the quantity of the reward, but also how fast it can get that. Brain loves instant reward. Thats why even though you want to eat healthy you end up eating much sugar, carbs, salt and oil.

There are many ways to establish a viable system. The basic idea is use the initial energy to make a good pathway brain can follow easily while getting sufficient reward.If you want to cut a tree in 8 hours, don't just cut the tree. Sharp your knif for the first 7 hours.

Why Habits Are Hard To Form?

There are many factors for a good night sleep. Some are easy to control, but some are hard.Here are some tips to get a good night sleep from my own experience.

How To Get A GOOD Night Sleep

This is not about drinking a glass of water before go to bed. But, stay hydrated throughout the day.

1. Stay Hydrate

Do not use mobile, computer or watch TV atleast 1 hour before you go to sleep

2. Avoid Screens

Do not eat much for dinner. Eat enough not to wake you up mid sleep😉

3. Get A Light Diet

It's proven when your body is warmed up you can get a good sleep. One counter-intuitive way to do this is getting a cold shower before bed(of course if you do not have fever

4. Keep Your Body Hot

It's also proven when the environment is colder than the body temperature you can get a better sleep. Turn the A/C on or simply open your window, if you do not have bugs or thieves in your neighborhood.

5. Keep The Environment Cold

We know that it is hard to get a good sleep under the stress. Meditation is a good way to keep the stress away.

6. Meditate

If you can, get a fitness tracker or simply use a smartphone app to measure the quality of your sleep. So you can make sure to improve.
