Do not rely fully on the experiments of scientists or the word of the media. Science although very valuable to society, is not perfect. Scientists have their own biases and expectations, and their own careers to run.

Principle #11 Engage in personal experiments with the world around you

Humans are constantly learning and teaching each other the new things that we learn. But we have to keep in mind our track record. At one time we thought the earth was flat. At one time we didn't realize germs were spread through contact and that we should wash our hands. If you stay up to date with the latest findings, maintain your skepticism.

Principle #12 Value knowledge and practices that have stood the test of time

Seek answers for yourself or from those around you. For example, consider your cultural traditions and practices, your religion the layout of your towns, etc. When you question deeply, you sometimes find that there are many possible ways to approach any given topic or field.﻿

Principle #13 Practice questioning the things in life that we tend to take for granted as being normal or sensible

Pretty much every real life decision that comes up can go an infinite amount of directions. You simply can't calculate or know for sure what will happen based on your actions. There are too many variables. Just to name a few, there are reactions of anyone involved, unexpected setbacks (bad weather, car accident), and your level of training may not have prepared you to make good decisions in the first place.

My life had been overshadowed by thus type of thinking. Mindset is something that can make you or break you. Teaching young children about how to not fall victim to this fear of failure based Mindset so important. I know now, at 46 years old, that if I don't know something, I can learn it. Reference whatever you find out about, for example, a newsletter that describes events for employees, like annual picnic or carnival. This probably means that they value and cater to employees and their families.*Always find out the name of the person interviewing you. Finding who key players are and referencing them will show that you took initiative.

Research And Preparation Are Key For Achieving Success

*By making a connection with the hiring manager, you will set yourself apart from other applicants.*Look around the lobby or the office and if you see anything you have in common, bring it up. *Make sure you know what you are talking about. Bringing up basketball because you see pictures of the hiring manager playing, that doesn't mean to lie and say that you play if you don't. Avoid lying about things you could potentially be embarrassed over in the future. *Noticing both of you have young children close in age is enough to feel that common ground.

Make The Interview A Conversation Not An Interrogation 

*I must emphasize the importance of doing your homework. This is something that the majority don't even think about doing, so it can be a deciding point. *Knowing certain facts about the company you are applying for will make you come off as detail oriented and a well prepared applicant. You will probably be one, out of a handful, who actually takes the time to do valuable research.

Find The Info That Will Place You Above The Other Applicants
