After learning about Growth Mindset, I realized how my lack thereof led me to many failures in my past.
After realizing that one of my first courses would be a basic college math class, I was terrified. So I procrastinated, because I figured I can't fail if I don't try.
But that's not the way the world works. I failed and almost lost my financial aid. But I got one more chance to pass during the next semester.
Habits die hard. I waited until the last week of class to even open a book. Knowing that if I failed again, I would not be able to continue with my degree, a fire was lit under my butt.

Start The Thing You Are Scared Of Failing
Then immerse yourself in the thing that you think you can't do. Chances are, you have no problem with the action, it was the mindset that was allowing your failure to continue.
After realizing that I better find a way to succeed at math, I found many resources, help, and examples of the things that I wanted to learn. I got a B in that class.
Why did I count myself out before I even put in any effort. The fixed mindset is real and can be debilitating. I wish I could thank Mrs. Dweck for her amazing book.

Growth Mindset Fixed Mindset
My life had been overshadowed by thus type of thinking. Mindset is something that can make you or break you.
Teaching young children about how to not fall victim to this fear of failure based Mindset so important. I know now, at 46 years old, that if I don't know something, I can learn it.
Teaching our children that it is possible to learn anything, no matter what it may be, is something that needs to be made a priority.
Learning that failure is a part of learning and it should be emphasized to this way to children. Without trial and error, all we have us speculation about what could be.
