The election is a turning point event in every democratic country. It will certainly shape your future and history. You don't need to be a diehard supporter of a candidate or a political fan. You just need to apply your common sense in choosing who is best because they make policies, whether good or bad, that affect everyone within a given territory.

Introduction

In this information age, fake news is rampant across social media platforms. It could be health or politics-related. Speaking of elections, culprits commonly targets a good candidate. Some people may find it difficult to distinguish which is fake or real. According to IFLA (2021), we can identify legit news by checking the following: <ul><li>The credibility of the author and media outlet</li><li>The date of publication of an article</li><li>The quality of work</li><li>Backed by experts</li></ul>If we vote for a candidate who benefits from fake news, there's a higher chance they will fool us once they acquire a seat in government.

1. Don't believe in fake news 

Election-related platforms are vital forces to develop a state/nation and solve current and underlying problems. A candidate must have a platform that is:<ul><li>beneficial for everyone</li><li>clear, concrete, and logical</li><li>having a specific action-plan</li><li>feasible</li><li>capable of solving short and long-term problems</li></ul>BEWARE OF FALSE PROMISES!

2. Listen to their platforms

Their track record affects the decision-making process. We must remember that their action in the past and current practice contributes to their type of leadership.For specific background check, consider the following:<ul><li>educational attainment</li><li>work experience</li><li>public service achievements</li><li>advocacies</li></ul>DO NOT VOTE for a candidate convicted of any crimes, especially graft, human rights abuse, or corruption.

3. Check their track record 

You are a beneficiary or a victim of their policies, whether you're a businessman, doctor, farmer, or student. Also, think about your loved ones, your business or job, or your dreams. Will you enjoy their leadership or suffer?

4. Think about your future if your candidate wins

One way of becoming a good citizen is by electing the right leader. However, we must not be a loyalist since leaders make mistakes. Instead, we should be a critic or solution providers. Always remember that you pay your taxes, and you don't want to waste them. So, VOTE WISELY!

FINAL WORD

In the Philippines, we will be having an election in May 2022. Many are still undecided. Worst, many believe in fake news. That's why I need to help my fellow Filipinos in choosing the right candidate who will lead us for 3 or 6 years. This idea is definitely applicable in other countries.

Selecting the Best Leader for your Country

When it comes to going outdoors to roam around somewhere and enjoy every scenery, it’s best to do it from 4 pm to 6 pm. It is the period before sunset we love.

I. OUTDOORS

You see the trees dancing because of blowing winds. Seeing a lovely family having their selfies together feels heartwarming. The diligent ice cream vendors are ringing their bell while the cheerful children are playing. Statues, monuments, fountains, and gardens relax you.

Park (4-6 pm)

How about the waves? I’m pretty sure your ears will crave their sound. How about the seashells and starfish? Or the corals? They are natural wonders that you want for home display. You may also do activities, like surfing, beach volleyball, swimming, building a sandcastle, and sunbathing at 4 pm. What you will love the most is looking at the horizon and wait for the sunset. The orange skies will make an unforgettable imprint on your memory. In the evening, you may do bonfire activities and camp as well.

Beach (4-6 pm)

The sunlight of 4 pm shines upon the wonder of the picturesque places. Can you imagine that? Time machine exists thanks to the historical sites. The blend of 4 pm sunlight with the brown to marble color of the walls looks perfect for your photo gallery. Most museum closes at 6 pm, but hours before that are another ideal time for a visit. On the outside, you are amazed by the wonder of the museum’s impressive architecture, filled with detailed artwork. Inside, the displays, art, fossils, artifacts, and old documents are worth seeing.

Historical Sites and Museums (4-6 pm)

It also feels memorable when we attend religious service before the sunset. We pray and worship to refresh our spiritual selves. And then we will leave to see the sunset or beautiful evening.

Churches (4-6 pm)

No matter what road you will go through (either the cityscape, mountains, seaside, bridges, or plains), when you drive before and during the sunset and pair it with the music of your choice, you will enjoy it for sure.

Road trip (4-6 pm)

Most people would think that exercise in the morning is better than in the afternoon or evening. I agree with it because, besides the workout, I love the fresh cold air outside and the Vitamin D production triggered by the sunlight.

II. EXERCISE (6-8 am)

There are also benefits of doing this activity in the morning. Here are some, according to <a class="idea-content-link" href="https://www.healthline.com/health/exercise-fitness/working-out-in-the-morning">healthline.com</a> (2019). <ol><li>Less prone to distractions – because you are less likely to receive phone notifications and minimal tasks upon waking up. </li><li>Healthy diet – early workouts can encourage you to eat more nutritious foods throughout the day. </li><li>More energy  </li><li>More focus  </li><li>Increase alert hormones  </li><li>Better mood  </li><li>Fat burning is at a higher rate during the morning exercise. </li><li>Controls blood sugar level and blood pressure   </li></ol>

Exercise

For me, it is best to work as the daylight appears. Business transactions occur more frequently during the daytime, so possibly, more income. Meetings are best to start in the morning also, with a cappuccino.

III. START OF USUAL WORKING TIME (6-8 am)

Studying can be good when we start it in the early morning, aside from doing it in the evening. Our mind is ready, refreshed, and are alerted by the daylight, according to <a class="idea-content-link" href="https://www.oxfordlearning.com/best-time-day-to-study/">oxfordlearning.com</a>. The time won’t also affect our sleep pattern, and it is a better time to catch with friends for group study. Although, most of us are still sleeping during this time. Another ideal time for studying:<ul><li>10 am - 2 pm</li><li>10 pm - 2 am</li><li>4 pm - 10 am</li><li>3 am - 6 am</li></ul>

The Best Time of the Day

We live in an interruption-based culture that can be damaging productivity. Most of the time, notifications from electronic devices only add to the distraction. In fact, many people are so used to getting interrupted at work that when they don't, they actually go looking for one! Distraction and constant multitasking can actually hurt small-business owners' performance. Mr. Barry Moltz, a business expert from Shafran Moltz Group, provided you these tips may help you increase your focus and complete the things that count:

Consider writing down two things that must get completed in order for that day to be productive. The reason there are two things is that perhaps the first task takes a shorter time than expected or it has a prerequisite, so it can't be completed. The second task is there as a backup. Do these items first before checking emails, returning phone calls or reading social media feeds since those can easily hijack the start of any day.

Have a Plan the Night Before

Proactively checking for information may keep you from having it interrupt a concentrated work flow. You may want to turn off all notifications from smartphones and desktops applications. Consider checking email only four times per day and handling each inquiry only once. Controlling your devices, and not having that technology control you, may help reduce distractions and increase your focus.

Turn Off the Distractions

This means something different for every small-business owner. Comfort could be determined by the clothes, the chair, the music, the temperature of the room or the work location. Knowing what environment makes you comfortable yet focused at the same time can help you maintain focus through the work day.

Get Comfortable

This may allow your mind to let go of interrupting thoughts and get centered on one thing. Consider sitting quietly in a place for three to five minutes a day. Close your eyes and count to 34. This may be difficult at the beginning since the mind tends to wander to other thoughts that could prevent you from getting to 34. Letting go of that thought without self-judgement and counting again can help get you back on track. Notice any feelings or sensations while doing this exercise. This is a harder task than it may seem, so take your time and  practice meditation for a small time at the start.

"Big fat hairy goals" (BFHG) may be great for motivational speeches, but they don't help anyone focus on getting important things done. Consider breaking down all goals to smaller pieces that can be accomplished more easily. As a result, this may only require focus for a shorter period of time, which may mean increased odds on completing the task.

Many small-business owners cheat sleep to work longer hours in an effort to get more things done. What is worse, this "sleep debt" can build up over a long period of time. Sleep deprivation can actually be counterproductive to staying focused and completing tasks with the highest level of skill. Getting some rest may help you increase your focus and improve your overall health.

Stuck on the top of my office computer monitor are three words: "Focus, Focus, Focus. " When I have difficulty sticking to a task or want to escape doing it to check email or Facebook, I look at this reminder and repeat those three words out loud. This cue really does help me!

Use Visual Reminders

Delaying gratification can actually help people focus on getting something done. To give it a try, choose the task and the customized reward (food, check social media, call a friend, etc.) before starting as a direct motivator.

Standing up—or better yet, getting away from the office—can help increase your focus. Taking even a short walk away from work can help refresh the body and mind. Taking a break can help you refocus on the next task upon return.

Walkabout

Non-work and screen activities can help free your brain up to focus later on a new task. For at least 30 minutes a day, consider working out, going for a run or bike ride, playing sports, doing puzzles or playing chess. Remember that a healthy body means a healthy mind. It can be difficult to focus when the body is sick or the mind is depressed.

Removing the distractions that take your attention away from your to-do list may help increase your focus.
