For years, it has been an accepted belief that cloud computing and artificial intelligence will fuel a surge in wealth-generating productivity. This belief caused a flood of venture funding and company spending. The payoff is supposed to benefit the entire economy, but that hasn't happened yet. Productivity is defined as the value of goods and services produced per hour of work. A government report showed that the growth in productivity since the pandemic is 1 % annually, in line with the rate since 2010 and far below the stretch from 1996 to 2004, when productivity grew more than 3 % a year.

Economies grow not only by adding capital and labour. Another vital ingredient to economic growth is the ability to commercialise innovation, which makes investment and workers more productive. A small percentage gain in productivity can significantly impact a country's wealth over time.  While productivity is not the only factor in economic wealth, a less productive economy has fewer resources to deal with social challenges.

Artificial technology is not transformational as expected

Sceptics like economist Robert J. Gordon states that today's artificial intelligence is mainly a pattern recognition technology. While its feats are impressive, it is not transformational in the way electricity and the internal combustion engine were. Others are more optimistic about productivity from innovations like cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Erik Brynjolfsson, director of Stanford University's Digital Economy Lab, says that while the productivity pickup is not yet evident, it may be just a matter of time.

Anthem,  a health insurer whose plans cover more than 45 million people, said digital technology had spared its call centres from having to answer an estimated 10 million customer service calls. Building the technical capability is just the beginning. It takes time for new technologies to spread and for people to know how to best use them. For example, it took the electric motor forty years before productivity gains were realised in mass production. Likewise, the personal computer took off in the 1980s, but economic productivity only surged in the second half of the 1990s.

There are numerous opportunities in the creator economy as long as you’re willing to work hard and diversify your revenue sources. Early on in the creator economy, ad revenue sharing was a primary way for creators to earn money. But then platforms like YouTube changed their policies and demonetized some ad-sharing opportunities for creators.Today ad revenue is still a part of the mix — and a desirable one as it’s passive income — but savvy creators are careful not to rely on it alone.

Nowadays, sponsored content is one of the primary opportunities in the influencer economy. Don’t be afraid of that terminology — content creators with influence at all levels are being tapped for participation in everything from sponsored posts to product placement and shout-outs.That’s because “nano” (i.e., less than 5k followers on Instagram) and “micro” content creators (i.e., 100k followers or less) provide higher levels of engagement and conversions than those at the mega-influencer level.

The Disparities

Where we’re going from here has only been accelerated in our post-pandemic world. People have more eagerly adapted to digital life, which, in turn, has given content creators a boost and the communities they serve more to enjoy.  We now have:<ul><li>More options to diversify revenue streams</li><li>Increased channels for creators and fans to connect</li><li>Greater direct support from audience members</li><li>Less reliance on social media giants </li><li>A more symbiotic relationship between creators and their audiences — with no intermediaries</li></ul>

For a DevOps, it's important to have good command in the command line. Knowing some Linux shell like Bash or Ksh and tools like find, grep, awk, sed, lsof, and networking commands like nslookup and netstat is mandatory.

3. Learn to Live in terminal

6. Learn Infrastructure as code

This is another very important thing for DevOps gurus and champion, i.e. to set up a pipeline for continuous integration and delivery. There are a lot of tools in the CI/CD area e.g. <a href="http://www.java67.com/2018/02/6-free-maven-and-jenkins-online-courses-for-java-developers.html">Jenkins</a>, TeamCity, Drone etc. I strongly recommend learning at least Jenkins, as it’s the most widely used and probably the most mature CI/CD tool in the market.

7. Learn some Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) tools

Apart from setup and deployment, monitoring is another important aspect of DevOps and that’s why it’s important for a DevOps engineer to learn about Infrastructure and application monitoring.
