Overstating on a resume

Overstating on a resume

Some job applicants are fudging key details on their resumes. A new survey shows that job applicants are now also lying about their hobbies and language abilities to find favour with hiring managers.

14% of Americans admitted to including hobbies or interests they don't have. Among the most common fake pastimes are volunteering or charity work, running or staying fit, yoga, photography, painting, art, playing an instrument. One in eight Americans lied about their fluency in a foreign language.
