A UX audit is a relatively cheap way to inspect the experience of your website. It is conducted by professional reviewers that are aware of common design patterns and UX best practices and can therefore empathise with the users of a website while running the UX analysis.

What is a UX audit?

1. Know your personas well A UX auditor needs to familiarize themself with at least 2 core personas who will be using the website. Write their main characteristics and navigate the website with their traits in mind.2. Know the company's business goalsIt is ideal if the UX auditor is aware of the main business and financial goals of the company, particular milestones or KPIs.3. Competitor AnalysisIt is useful to look at a few competitors to see how they compare with you. 4. UX best practicesThe auditor should consider looking at industry UX best practices to establish a baseline for great UX.
