• Have an interesting object with you. This can be a hat
• Try having a conversation with a single person rather than a group of people. You could ask questions about the event or simply say hello.
• Do not be boring. Act as if you were already friends with a new person.
• Find a common interest. continue the conversation with topics you both have in common

• Try to remember the name of the person.
• Give your attention to them. Listen.
• Do not say that everything is clear, pay attention and ask questions.

Even though not everyone enjoys being touched, if they do, you can communicate with them more successfully.

By lightly touching the elbows, you can tell if a new acquaintance enjoys physical contact.

You should respect someone's personal space if they don't enjoy physical contact; you can still communicate without it.

If you don't show your value you will be overlooked and underrated, try this:

• Use braggin modesty to show your value, casual mention all your interesting things.
• Don't be afraid to tell a fascinating story about what you did, but be careful not to overdo it. See the facial reaction of the person if they are listening to you or just waiting for you to finish so they can talk; it is a way to measure if you are bragging too much.
• Just give a bussines card when the other person ask for it, or only give it when there is a reason to do so.

If you want to meet as many people as possible, don't spend the entire day talking to just one person. Before you leave a conversation, you can do the following two things.

• Say goodbye. Don't lie about going to the bathroom; instead, stop asking questions and wait for the conversation to end so you can say goodbye.
• Exchange contact information. Don't forget about it. Make sure you can contact this new acquaintance a day before the event.
