It is said that around 300 years ago, after a flood, the locals of the village found a black rock. When it was touched, blood started to come out. Later that night, the head of the village had a dream where Lord Shani directed him to make a shrine under his name and in return, he would protect the village from any ill or harm under the pretext that it should have any roof so he could guard it. So, this was passed on and the village still follows this.
