Lucid dreaming is you retain consciousness in a dream. And manipulate and control the environment and people in your dream. One way to lucid dream is called the wild method which you do by inflicting sleep paralysis on yourself whenever you feel tired enough that you won’t fall asleep but enough that your body will think you’re sleeping lay down with none of your limbs, touching on your back and stay as still as possible you get the stinging and itching on your body. This is your brain seeing if you were asleep and if your body reacts, then you’re awake ignore it and stay still.

When lying still don’t focus on your breathing, let your mind wonder if you wait long enough you will feel some tinglings sensations. All over your body you might hear things keep your eyes closed. If you open them you may see some scary things but also it may ruin the sleep paralysis just chill out and wait till the tingling pass, then look and focus on your eyelids the back of them watch the darkness as it slowly makes shapes and flashes of light and watch a dream world build before your very eyes if you want a specific dream focus in on all your senses and imagine them where you want to be
