“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8
Well, first let’s see how the love of God was shown to us -1 John 4:9 says: “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”
Why is this act an act of Love?
We didn’t love Him ( maybe only its blessings ), he loved us when we were still sinners. His Love was so big that He sent His only Son to die for our sins - read the Gospels for more on this. He didn’t do this because we worshipped Him, or listened or obeyed Him, He loved us because He is Love.

When we’ve realised this, we feel in a way guilty. And this feeling of a debt is increasing in us so that we start to love our neighbour.
“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” - 4:12 - can you see the connection?
We know that his loves is made complete in us when we love one another, truly. Yet we did not see God we know that this kind of Love is not from a human heart.

This is a kind of disappointing statement, but it’s true and you know it. You know how weak and selfish we are.
This fire that now guides our soul, to sacrifice, to humble, to love, it’s called the Spirit of God.
“This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.” - 4:13

“Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” - 1 John 4:20 NIV
Simple right? Walk the talk - only that we ourselves cannot walk this talk on our own.
That’s why I’ve mentioned the Spirit of God previously. He is the one that fires our soul for this talk.
disclaimer: ‘it is not like: “yo Spirit, fill my soul up, I am going out”. This is not Love.”
