They just add a promise or threat of punishment. Inspiration makes someone feel heard and feel like they matter. Good customer service is if you can show someone you care by trying to solve their problem.

For example, a cable company that has a monopoly often has the worst customer service and products. There is no competition, therefore no reason to do better. It's not like customers can go anywhere else.
